More details (and another video) here.

The Arduino-based MIDI sequencer that failed sometime between setting up and demonstrating it during my presentation at Notacon has been revived and revamped. Now I can try to implement some new features.

Also, when I got into work this morning, I found that someone had left a copy of the NeXTSTEP 2.1 update set on my chair. Of course, I've already got 3.3 (and 3.1, and 3.0, I think?) and OPENSTEP 4.2, so this is pretty much an interesting historical artifact. It's now on the shelf next to the copy of OS/2 EE 1.3 someone gave me a while ago.

Pocket Piano Arduino Shield - I saw this when it was first announced, but now it's available for sale.

Of course, I just spent a bunch of money on everything I need for the Sound Lab Mini-Synth PLUS, so it's gonna have to wait.

But next month - it's on.

And now the RBBB is finished:

Now to come up with some projects to utilize them...

Bare Bones Board in effect - I seem to have not made any errors soldering it:

Just got two more Arduino-compatible boards today - Modern Device's BBB and RBBB.

Why, you ask?

Because not only am I giving some kind of crazy circuit-bending presentation at Penguicon (which will mostly really be making these little ribbon controllers, since I don't anticipate a lot of people wanting to go to the effort of getting all the stuff they need to bend a toy), I'm now also doing an Arduino hacking workshop there(!).

I take a little break from electronics and the Arduino world goes nuts:

-Improvements on the standard board (the so-called Arduino Diecimila, named for the fact they've made 10,000 boards so far)
- A number of clones, aka "Freeduinos (due to some trademark issues).
-A Stylophone clone project.
-The Arduino Punk Console (I am TOTALLY building this. TOTALLY.)
-and the wearable, washable LilyPad board, which also has a number of subpieces, such as an RGBLED element and other crazy stuff. Some interesting possibilities there...
